About me
Dr. Heather Baker is a sudden cardiac arrest survivor, Elementary School Principal, Adjunct Professor, Certified CPR Instructor, and a Mom to a three-year-old with a congenital heart defect. Her research and advocacy work helped to pass cardiac emergency response plans in schools legislation in Illinois, and she has expanded her advocacy efforts into other states. Heather is a member of the National Project ADAM Advisory Board and the American Heart Association's Midwest Board of Directors. Also a devoted and esteemed educational leader, she is the proud recipient of two recent Principal of the Year awards, the Golden Apple Principal Award, and her school, Dorothy Simon Elementary School in Winnebago, was just named as a Model PLC School by Solution Tree.
