About me
Amanda Mathews is an experienced elementary educator and instructional leader with over 10 years of classroom teaching experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and brings a practitioner’s lens to her work that bridges classroom practice and systems-level leadership.
Amanda works closely with district leaders and school teams to implement SEL-aligned, evidence-based practices that strengthen school climate, foster collective efficacy, and build authentic community. Her leadership centers on moving beyond isolated strategies to create cohesive, sustainable systems that prioritize relationships, belonging, and shared responsibility for student and staff well-being. She presented at last year’s Summer Symposium with her session Resilient Roots, which was later featured in an interview and story through Northern Illinois University, highlighting the impact of relationship-centered, culturally responsive SEL practices in schools.
Amanda is passionate about translating research into actionable, real-world approaches that educators and leaders can immediately apply to elevate their collective impact.
